[ Matt often forgets about messages immediately after sending them. The physical world is so much more distracting and enrapturing than words on little screens, and he figures the other person will get back to him on their own time. In this case, however, he has to actively distract himself so he won't check his phone every two seconds. Finally, he leaves the thing in his room and wanders the house for awhile.

You could be stern with us, but given that I was a teenager intent on kissing as many boys as possible while I was away from Tevinter... I experienced far worse discipline from others, in those years.

I suppose it was the rather varied responses to my attempt at sharing information. Some raised hackles I understood, some I'd attribute to hastiness or issues of reading comprehension, [ sorry ] but overall β I'd say it's indisputable that the fault lay with me.
